Code of ethics
Principles
All projects will be carried out impartially in accordance with the clients agreed instructions and a fair and balanced review of the matter will always be conducted. Should a project not be suitable for enquiry or another course of action is deemed to be more appropriate in the circumstances, then this will be brought to the immediate attention of the client in order to avoid unnecessary expense.
Professional Standards
All projects will be carried out professionally and competently having due regard for the human rights of individuals. Our work ethic clearly demonstrates a respect for all, regardless of age, race, religion or gender.
Competency
All projects will be carried out in a structured professional manner. Areas requiring additional expertise (eg – computer crime etc) can be referred to a suitably qualified associate with the client's consent. Projects will be conducted and recorded in keeping with the rules of evidence. This in turn will demonstrate a clear evidential audit trail. All records will be securely maintained and where required can be used in support of the client in the event they are needed for a disciplinary hearing, Court or Tribunal etc.
Directed
All projects will remain focused on the assessed client specification, being carried out within the agreed timescales. Staged reviews will be set in place to enable regular consultation with the client. This will allow their views to be made known as the project moves forward. This structured facility will allow the client to ensure they are fully aware of expenses involved.
Confidentiality
All projects will be carried out in a confidential manner reporting only to the client or the client’s nominated representative in accordance with the agreed terms of the Letter of Engagement. All material collated during the course of the project will be kept secure in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 1998, and the General Data Protection Regulation, 2018.
